Who Can Become a MAIT Member?

A Proprietary firm, Partnership firm, Limited Liability Partnership firm, Public Limited Company, Private Limited Company, One Person Company, Corporation or Body Corporate, Co-Operative Societies or Associations registered under the relevant State Act and whose primary objectives shall include anyone or more of the activities mentioned below shall be entitled to the membership.

MAIT is an industry body focused on the needs of the Electronics & ICT Hardware sector
  • Provides Networking opportunity with other Industry fraternity members.
  • Professional Advocacy Services for Members including policy development, and regulatory framework on key industry issues relating to Electronics Industry including Electronics Manufacturing, R&D, & Trade.
  • Taking Information Technology (PC/Laptop/Servers/Peripherals), Communication Technology (Data Communication & Telecom), Mobile Phones, Digital Lifestyle products, Medical Electronics (Diagnostics, Monitoring, & Therapeutic), Logistics & Supply Chain etc. related concerns with the Central and State Governments.
  • Regular and timely information to Members on latest national and international policies, Government Legislations and technical developments relating to electronics manufacturing.
  • Helping members in driving export-led manufacturing out of India.
  • Supporting the Members in Market Development through national and international events & exhibitions and hosting IT & Electronics delegations and organizing delegations to potential partner countries.
  • Organizing one to one meetings with the relevant Ministries and Governmental Departments on generic issues pertaining to industry sectors represented by MAIT.
  • Organizing Product Outreach Programs for Governmental buyers at GeM resulting in development of direct business generation for the members.
  • Collaborating with regulators and standards bodies for Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and Compulsory Registration Order (CRO) compliances.
  • Advising members on focus areas of Manufacturing, Demand Generation, and Ease of Doing Business along with the issues of trade, customs, tax and GST matters.

Type Of Membership

Corporate Member

Corporate Member shall be the core member of the association and whose primary objectives shall include anyone or more of the following:

1. A manufacturer of Information Technology Products in India.

2. An assembler of IT hardware products.

3. IT & Electronics Hardware Product Design and Developer with annual turnover of Rs.10 Crores and above.

4. IT Training Institutes with annual turnover of Rs.10 Crores and above.

Affiliate Member

1. Foreign Liaison.

2. Resellers and Value Added Resellers.

3. Body Corporate such as Public Sector Organization / Financial Institutions who invest/promote the IT sector.

4. Associations/Institutions engaged in promotion of IT products.

5. Other companies such as e-Waste, Media, PR, Legal, Research agency, Insurance, Bank, Carriage & Freight Agents / Freight Forwarder.

Honorary Member

Honorary member shall be an individual who has made immense contribution to the growth of IT hardware manufacturing sector. Her appointment for membership should be dependent on the unanimous approval of the executive council. The Honorary member shall be exempt from the payment of admission fees and annual membership fees.

MSME Member

An organization governed by the MSME Act and who is associated with IT hardware sector in India may be inducted into MAIT as a MSME member. The member may be admitted at the discretion of the Executive Council.

Apply For Membership

Set up in 1982, MAIT is the apex body representing India’s ICT sector. MAIT is recognized by both the Government, as well as the industry, for its role in the growth and development of the IT Hardware industry.
